ShapingBio workshop at Mission Arena in Amsterdam

ShapingBio will organise a workshop at the 3rd Mission Arena, which will take place on 26-27 November in Amsterdan, the Netherlands.

About Mission Arena

The Blue Mission BANOS 3rd Mission Arena will inspire, engage and support a wide range of stakeholders across the North Sea in making the Blue Economy carbon-neutral & circular by 2030, in line with EU Mission Ocean’s objectives.   

Through a wide range of interactive sessions, workshops, pitching events, demonstrations and study visits, the 3rd Mission Arena will serve as a laboratory to (1) pave the way to innovative solutions, (2) showcase local, regional and national approaches to create a transition to a circular, carbon-neutral blue economy in the North Sea, and (3) provide concrete pathways to Mission Ocean’s success in the area.   

The 3rd Mission Arena will focus on the local and regional communities of Germany, Denmark, Belgium and the Netherlands. 

 

ShapingBio Workshop

Enhancing Aquaculture Governance: Working with public authorities to improve licensing and regulatory frameworks in the North Sea

Date: 27 November 2024 | Time: 11:15-13:00

The goal of the workshop is to discuss the current state of regulation and licensing in low-trophic aquaculture, as well as the challenges, needs, and opportunities to improve local aquaculture governance and collaboration between authorities.

The workshop will among others present good practices and recommendations for improving aquaculture governance from a case study on the structures governing aquaculture in Denmark, Ireland and Germany. Further, an aquaculture farmer will share his experience with the administration process of licencing in the North Sea region. 

The workshop is relevant for regional and local policy stakeholders, sector representatives (including aquaculture farmers and industry groups), NGOs, relevant scientific institutions, clusters, EU project representatives.
